October 11 – 15, 2021

This week in phonics we are practicing reading and writing CVC words. CVC words have a consonant, a short vowel and a consonant. Examples: cat, bed, hit, mop, sun

Our spelling words this week are: out, back, make, of, now, tap, yet, fin, hot, & bun.

This week during read aloud we will continue comparing fiction & non-fiction books.

During math this week we are reviewing all the skills we’ve learned so far and practicing those that need a little extra work.

In writing time this week we will listen to the story, Crankenstein. We will write what makes us cranky and what makes us feel better and decorate our piece like the character Crankenstein.

Our Read-a-thon fundraiser starts today. We are logging our minutes read during our silent reading time at school. We would love it if you will log students’ minutes read at home too. Also, students can earn some in-class prizes if parent’s make an account and share the link to our fundraiser on Facebook. We appreciate your help and support!

I’m looking forward to another great week with your students!
